Direct Access
Scheme

The direct way to gaining
a full motorcycle licence.
Direct access scheme available at CMS-HIGHLAND since its introduction
in 1997. DAS as it is more commonly referred to, allows pupils that are over
21 years of age to train and test on bikes with a power output greater than
46.6 bhp. When you pass your test on these bikes you will have a full licence
with no power restrictions.
Under 21 can do the same course. The practical driving test will be sat on
a 125cc to gain an A2 restricted licence.

NOTE: Pupils must have
passed the theory and hazard preception test for motorcycles
before they can be put forward for the practical driving test.

3 DAY COURSE
=====================
This course is designed
for pupils with previous motorcycle experience.
Day 1 is compulsory basic training (CBT). Day 2 and 3 consists of some
training on a 125cc and then if over 21 introduction and training on the 500cc
bikes through varied road riding in all traffic conditions within the town
and
country in preparation for your practical test. Day 4 is a warming up session
before your practical test. The test is carried out by the DSA examiners.
5 DAY COURSE

This course is aimed at
the complete novice that has never been astride a motorcycle and wishes
to learn. The candidate must be over 21 to qualify for this training. Day
1 is compulsory basic
training (CBT) then you will have a further one and a half days training on
a 125cc bike to improve
your riding techniques. You are then introduced to the 500cc bike explaining
the differences you will
experience in the riding and handling of the bigger bike. You will undertake
two and a half days
intensive training in preparation for your practical test. Day 6 is a training
session to rectify any mistakes you
may make prior to taking your practical test. The test is carried out by the
DSA examiners.
